New Albany, Ohio (November 18, 2002) "As Big As Racing Gets" is the title of an ESPN2 special that will air at 6:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 21, the Super Truck Racing Association of North America (STRANA) announced today.
The 30-minute broadcast highlights:
The development of super truck racing in North America, STRANA's role as the governing body of the new and exciting motorsport, and its relationship with the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) its sanctioning body and IMSA's popular American Le Mans Series; Interviews with motorsports authorities, as well as star drivers; STRANA's connection to the wildly popular European series, and STRANA demo events at Mosport International Raceway in August, and at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in September.
"Millions of viewers will share in the excitement we've seen building for two years in developing this new motorsports' property," said STRANA Marketing Director Craig Lerner. "It's a level of excitement that skyrocketed last summer when North American fans saw the power and speed of a super truck on the track.
"This broadcast helps us build momentum as we move into the 2003 racing season," said Lerner.
The ESPN2 broadcast is sponsored by Alcoa, Continental Tires, Haldex, Shell Rotella-T, Detroit Diesel, Truckin' Bozo Radio Network, www.1800DRIVERS.com, and America Trucking On The Road magazine.
Based in suburban Columbus, Ohio, STRANA is the governing body for class-8 super truck racing in North America. Its mission is to promote super truck racing and the trucking and transportation industry.
