EXXON MASTERCARD NAMED TITLE SPONSOR FOR THE 12 HOURS OF SEBRING Sebring, Fla. - The new EXXON MasterCard will be the title sponsor of the 43rd running of America's premier sports car race. The EXXON MasterCard 12 Hours of Sebring International Grand Prix of Endurance takes place on Saturday, March 18, at the historic Sebring International Raceway circuit. "The 12 Hours of Sebring is an internationally famous event, and we are most pleased to be the title sponsor," stated Jim Carter, Fuel Products Manager, Exxon Company USA. "We feel our EXXON MasterCard marketing objectives are an ideal match with this renown event. What better way to build consumer awareness of our card offering than to align ourselves with one of America's premier events." First held in 1952, the 12 Hours of Sebring is the mecca of American sports car racing. Previous winners include Phil Hill, Stirling Moss, A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Juan Manuel Fangio, Al Holbert and Geoff Brabham. Over 60 cars are expected to take the green flag for the 10:40 am start on March 18. Portions of the IMSA-sanctioned race will be broadcast live on ESPN. Tickets are available by calling (813) 655-1442 or toll-free in Florida (800) 626-RACE.
