OLDSMOBILE OPENS ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA PREPARATION WITH FIVE-DAY TEST
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 4) -- Three Oldsmobile sports car teams will open the pre-season testing campaign on Tuesday for the Feb. 3-4 Rolex 24 At Daytona IMSA Exxon World Sports Car and Supreme GT Series seasons with a scheduled five-day session at Daytona International Speedway.
Wayne Taylor, 1994 IMSA World Sports Car champion, and former SCCA Trans-Am champion Scott Sharp will drive the factory-backed Doyle Racing Oldsmobile Riley & Scott Mk. 3.
Essex Racing will be on hand with the Payne-Williams Racing Oldsmobile R&S Mk. 3 that it ran for the latter half of the '95 season.
Exxon GTS-1 champion Irv Hoerr and Darin Brassfield will be among the drivers testing the new Brix Racing Olds Aurora GT cars.
A section of the Oldfield Grandstand will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with access through the Visitors' Center. Guided tours will also be offered.

These special "Super Tickets" include four days of General Admission to the infield or unreserved grandstands; Paddock and Garage access and free infield car parking.
