Exclusive supplier becomes "Primary Truck Sponsor" for 2003 Super Truck Celebrity Challenge.
New Albany, Ohio (February 18, 2003) Haldex will be a Primary Truck Sponsor for the 2003 Super Truck Celebrity Challenge, the Super Truck Racing Association of North America (STRANA) announces.
Haldex' decision to become a Primary Truck Sponsor comes in addition to its role as the official and exclusive supplier of brake systems for the Super Truck Racing Championship Series through 2005. Financial terms of the Primary Truck Sponsorship are not being released.
"We are extremely thrilled and proud that Haldex has chosen to enhance its role in our series," said STRANA Executive Director Brian Till. "We continue building momentum with the help of marketing partners such as Haldex, which brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and success in the European super truck racing series."
Said Haldex Chief Operating Officer Chuck Kleinhagen, "Haldex is committed to STRANA and their effort to build a successful motorsports platform for the trucking industry that showcases our technology and products.
"Our role as an exclusive supplier of brake systems, and now as Primary Truck Sponsor, further the mission of our commercial vehicle braking business to accelerate the technology of stopping," said Kleinhagen.
As Primary Truck Sponsor, Haldex will receive a primary position on one truck used in the Super Truck Celebrity Challenge, recognition as a 2003 partner in all advertising and promotional materials, decals on every super truck and transporter, broadcast mentions and advertising, rights to STRANA and series logos and marks to use in company promotions, and additional race-site promotional activities.
The Super Truck Celebrity Challenge will showcase superstars of road racing competing in STRANA trucks for charity. The races which will be televised will run in support of the International Motor Sports Association's (IMSA) popular American Le Mans Series races. Sites include:
Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. on July 25-27; Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada on Aug. 15-17; and Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc. on Aug. 22-24.
