New Albany, Ohio (November 18, 2002) The Super Truck Racing Association of North America (STRANA) today announced the "Super Truck Celebrity Challenge" for 2003.

The "Super Truck Celebrity Challenge" showcases superstars of road racing competing in STRANA trucks for charity. Details of the events which will be televised nationally are being finalized in cooperation with STRANA's sanctioning body, the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).

"The Super Truck Celebrity Challenge will bring the excitement of super truck racing to North America next year," said STRANA Executive Director Brian Till. "These short- field races continue building our momentum toward our first full season in 2004.

The "Super Truck Celebrity Challenge" is announced as STRANA prepares to begin building spec super trucks to run in the events. This gives race teams that have signed letters of interest to compete in the Super Truck Racing Championship Series a tested and proven product to purchase.

Like this year, STRANA events in 2003 will run in conjunction with IMSA's popular American Le Mans Series races, including:

The Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma to be run at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. on July 25-27;

The Grand Prix at Mosport to be run at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada on Aug. 15-17; and

The Road America 500 to be run at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc. on Aug. 22-24.

STRANA sponsors include Alcoa, Haldex, Shell Rotella-T, Truckin' Bozo Radio Network, and America Trucking On The Road magazine.

Based in suburban Columbus, Ohio, STRANA is the governing body for class-8 super truck racing in North America. Its mission is to promote super truck racing and the trucking and transportation industry.
