Denver, N.C. (1 August 2014) – Action Express Racing has been nominated for the Microsoft Visual Studio Team to Win Award following a big team performance in the Brickyard Grand Prix when the organization took its first Indianapolis victory. The nomination is the third for the Action Express squad in a year that has seen the entire team work together to deliver positive results and remain a contender for the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship title.

The victory at Indianapolis saw the team return to the top of the TUDOR Championship standings with a two point advantage.

Perfect strategy and pit stops along with outstanding driving from Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa all combined at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to see Action Express Racing capture the team’s first-ever Indianapolis victory in the Brickyard Grand Prix. The result added to the growing list of achievements for the North Carolina-based squad who opened the 2014 season with a big victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Fittipaldi and Barbosa dominated to lead a race-high 92 laps of the 108-lap Indianapolis event while also conserving fuel the entire race and delivered Action Express Racing the win and the opportunity for the entire team to kiss the famous bricks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

While the victories have been a highlight for the entire organization, the hard work of the team and excellent preparation has also seen the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette Daytona Prototype become the only car to complete every single lap of the TUDOR Championship so far this year.

With just three races remaining in the 2014 TUDOR Championship, Action Express Racing is working hard both on and off the track with an eye on the championship title.
