Memo Gidley, driver of the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette Prototype who was injured in January’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, moved home yesterday where he will continue with home healthcare and outpatient physical therapy on his road to recovery.

After spending nearly six weeks in a San Francisco outpatient program, Gidley returns to his home residence to continue his rehabilitation and recovery efforts. Gidley has recently been able to put weight on his broken leg, broken arm and has begun walking with the assistance of a walker.

“I have a lot of work ahead of me, but because of the people behind me, and my determination, I will heal and get strong again,” Gidley said in a letter to supporters on his website. “As difficult as this has been, I feel so unbelievably lucky because I am confident I can heal and get back to the Gidley I was before.”

Those wanting to send cards can do so by the following address: Memo Gidley; 153 Prospect Ave.; Sausalito, CA 94965. In lieu of flowers, Gidley requests donations be made to Camp Boggy Creek, a proud charity partner of IMSA. Donations can be made online atwww.campboggycreek.org, and the gift designated in honor of Memo Gidley.
