Hour 14: AXR leads, mixed fortunes for GTD Aston Martins

Following a round of pitstops for all categories at the 13h30m mark, Dane Cameron took over the #31 Action Express Corvette DP and continued Pagenaud's good work.

#4 Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C7.R: Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner, Marcel Fässler
#68 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GTE: Alessandro Pier Guidi, Alexandre Prémat, Daniel Serra, Memo Rojas

The Californian was a dozen seconds ahead of Marc Goossens in the #90 Visit Florida and the second AX Racing entry with Joao Barbosa at the wheel.

In fourth was Lance Stroll in the Ganassi Riley-Ford #01, with Rubens Barrichello fifth for Wayne Taylor Racing.

Johannes van Overbeek was still sixth, a lap down after an earlier drive-through penalty.

Not to be overlooked was Ganassi #02’s Scott Dixon, still trying to recover from six laps down, who set his fastest time on lap 401, down in the 1min39s as the cars ahead ran some two seconds slower.

In GTLM, Kevin Estre and Earl Bamber ran 1-2 in the Porsches, pursued hard by the Corvette C7.Rs of Marcel Fassler and Mike Rockenfeller. Fifth was Scuderia Corsa’s Ferrari 488 piloted by Memo Rojas.

Strong PC runners struck trouble, with the #52 PR1/Mathiasen car going behind the wall, and the #20 BAR1 car running off the track and running slowly thereafter. That left the JDC Miller car with a six-lap lead.

In GTD, Pedro Lamy ran P1 in the #98 Aston Martin Vantage, ahead of the steady and consistent #23 Alex Job Porsche, now with Ian James in the cockpit. However, the 007 ended the hour off the course with the #21 Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini and causing a full course yellow.
