LONG BEACH, CA - They may have been delayed with technical headaches at the opening two rounds of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, but Jan Magnussen and the Corvette Racing squad have their sights set on bouncing back on the streets of Long Beach this weekend.
Magnussen, regular teammate Antonio Garcia and IndyCar ace Ryan Briscoe fought back at Sebring after suffering early damage to not only gain back their lost lap but charge their way to the front of the pack.
Fuel pressure issues eventually took the No.3 Corvette out of contention, but the Danish ace is confident of a strong showing this weekend at Long Beach.Corvette Racing has been traditionally strong here with four race wins and a Corvette has set the fastest race lap in each of the past seven years.
Magnussen is back on track this weekend after recently visiting the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix where he was able to see his son Kevin in action for McLaren for the first time.
Kevin Magnussen scored a sensational second place on debut in Australia and backed that up with more points in Malaysia despite a penalty and an early stop to replace the nose on his McLaren.
