“Michelin is pleased to join in the unification of sports car racing in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship,” said Michelin North America Director of Motorsports Chris Baker. “The new TUDOR Championship marks the beginning of a new era of sports car racing in North America and Michelin is pleased to continue our close collaborations with our manufacturer and independent team partners in the open tire competition provided in the GT Le Mans class.”

Michelin will supply tires in the 2014 TUDOR Championship for Corvette Racing, BMW Team RLL, Risi Competizione, SRT Motorsports, Aston Martin Racing and the new Porsche North America team.

The tire manufacturer brings an outstanding record of success in North American and international sports car competition, with 139 overall race victories and 392 class wins in 147 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón races. Michelin has taken the overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the past 16 consecutive years.

“Michelin's record in sports car racing, particularly in North America, speaks for itself,” said IMSA President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Atherton. “We witnessed firsthand the many positive contributions Michelin provided the American Le Mans Series over many years and could not be more proud to welcome this truly world-class manufacturer into the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.”
