On 11-12-13 July 2014 the seventh round of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship will take place in the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. In the previous race on the Watkins Glen circuit last weekend the no. 42 OAK Racing Morgan-Nissan LM P2 just missed on victory by a whisker. The halfway mark of the season has now been passed and after getting closer and closer to that elusive first place race after race, the French team is determined to clinch its maiden victory in the American Championship in the Canadian round.

After the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen, the Tudor USCC event in Canada will return to the shorter format with a race lasting 2h 45 m. Olivier Pla will be back with Gustavo Yacaman to compete in the MOBIL 1 SPORTSCAR GRAND PRIX presented by HAWK PERFORMANCE. The complementary pairing will be back at the wheel of the no. 42 Morgan LM P2 built by Onroak Automotive and powered by the Nissan VK45 V8 engine after driving together in the Long Beach and Detroit rounds as well as the Daytona and Sebring endurance races.

After fourth place at Long Beach, third at Laguna Seca and second at Watkins Glen, OAK Racing is getting nearer and nearer to victory, and the whole team will do its best next weekend to climb the final rung on the ladder to be on the topmost step of the podium.

The overall classification at the front of the championship is very tight. Thanks to its consistency and the points scored at each race OAK Racing is in fourth place: only 15 points separate the team from the current leader Wayne Taylor Racing. With 35 points awarded for a win the French outfit’s motivation and ambitions are still as strong as ever.

Philippe Dumas, OAK Racing Team Principal: “We’re currently on an excellent roll; we just have to concentrate on our job and do the maximum to win this race. It won’t be easy but the layout should help our Morgan-Nissan LM P2. We’re still aiming for attainable objectives and we’re still in the running for the championship title.”

Olivier Pla: “It’s the first outing for the team, Gustavo and me on this circuit. To gain time in getting to know the layout I’ve worked on a simulator and watched videos. Since the start of the season the team’s done a great job. We’re inching closer and closer to victory and at Watkins Glen the team missed out on first place by a whisker. We’re still as determined as ever to win, and yet again we’re going to give our all to climb the final rung on the ladder and be on the topmost step of the podium!”

Gustavo Yacaman: “I’ve been to Mosport before but I’ve never driven there. I’m really looking forward to getting out onto the track. The layout is amazing. It’s an old style F1 circuit with mega fast corner and the Armco is only 5 meters away from the track. Turn one looks like it’s almost flat out in 5th gear. Oli will be back in the car and I’m really looking forward to working together with him as well. The team has done an amazing job all year so far; we’ve been really consistent finishing every race and scoring points. It’s time to go for a win and start climbing our way up to the top of the championship ladder.”
