Paul Miller Racing has added power to power, announcing Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver Mirko Bortolotti will join the team for the upcoming Rolex 24 At Daytona, season-opener in the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Bortolotti (Vienna, Austria) will drive the new No. 48 Castrol/UIS Lamborghini Huracán GT3 with Bryce Miller (Summit, New Jersey), Bryan Sellers (Atlanta) and Madison Snow (Lehi, Utah).

The foursome will drive together for the first time during the Roar Before the 24 test, set for Jan. 8 to 10 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. They will return for the 24-hour race on the 3.56-mile infield road course on Jan. 30 and 31.

We are extremely pleased to have a driver as talented as Mirko Bortolotti available to join us for the Rolex 24 At Daytona,

Bortolotti, who will celebrate his 26th birthday on the final day of the Roar Before the 24, has already posted impressive track results. He won the 2008 Formula 3 Italian championship, the 2011 FIA Formula 2 title and the 2013 driver championship in the World Series Renault Eurocup Megane Trophy. In 2015, he earned two pole positions in the Blancpain Endurance Series with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 and two podiums in his debut in the Blancpain Sprint Series. He added five wins in the Italian GT Championship, where he finished third overall, and also took first place in his ADAC GT Masters debut at The Red Bull Ring.

"We are extremely pleased to have a driver as talented as Mirko Bortolotti available to join us for the Rolex 24 At Daytona," team owner Paul Miller said. "He has extensive experience in sports cars, has won formula racing championships in Europe and has even tested Formula One cars. Daytona will be a new experience for him, but it is already evident he is a professional and competitive driver who will be more than up for the challenge."

Bortolotti is looking forward to his first race in North America. "It's a great honor to race the Lamborghini Huracán GTD for Paul Miller Racing at the prestigious Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona," he said. "Endurance races are always big challenges for both men and machines and generally difficult to predict. Even though I believe that we have a competitive and reliable package to aim for a great result."

Paul Miller Racing is a leading GTD team in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The team placed second in the 2014 IMSA series GTD standings and third in 2015.
