DeLand / Sebring / Daytona - The Florida-based racing-team Muehlner Motorsports America took part in winter testing of the new TUDOR United SportsCar Championship with their two brand-new Porsche 911 GT-America.

Muehlner Motorsports America is one of the first teams ever to have enrolled the plan to run two Porsche GT-America in the first season of the united American Championship.

"This is the logical consequence of our long lasting efforts to push our motorsport commitment in the States," explains Managing Director Bernhard Muehlner.

In the four days of testing at Sebring and Daytona, the team was able to gain important insights into the performance characteristics of the new 991 model.

"Our goal was not to see the performance of the new 991 GT America for a Qualifying Lap but we worked hard to find a good race pace and we succeeded in this. It was a pleasure to work with US Racing Pro Randy Pobst , Canadian Racing Pro Kyle Marcelli and the Austrian Porsche Supercup Racing Pro Norbert Siedler on our set-up for the season openers (Daytona & Sebring) of the upcoming racing season ," says Muehlner on.

Muehlner Motorsports America received support from their performance-partners BILSTEIN Shock Absorbers, H & R Springs and PAGID Braketechnology.

Especially in the final session at the Daytona International Speedway, the Muehlner Porsche showed a nice race performance with fast lap times in the top 3 in the GT Daytona class. Finally Siedler clocked the 2nd fastest time of the afternoon.

US-Racing Pro Randy Pobst: ”Driving with Mühlner Motorsports has been interesting, enjoyable, and fast! The team tuned the new Porsche 991 well, benefiting from Bernhard's experience and wisdom."

Canadian Racing Pro Kyle Marcelli: "It's obvious that the 991 is a very different car than the previous generation 997. Porsche has done a very nice job with the new car. I think with some further development it's going to be a very competitive package."

And further: "I want to thank Muehlner Motorsport for inviting me to test the new car. The team worked hard in the days prior to Sebring to get the cars ready. After running through a series of changes at both Sebring and Daytona, the cars are very close to where they need to be."

Austrian Porsche Supercup Racing Pro Norbert Siedler: "I am very glad, that I could participate in the winter tests. I think, we did a great job. With our lap times we could get close to the top! We definitely headed in the right direction! Hopefully I am able to join the team for the race in January."
