Race action

The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona had reached the halfway point. So far, there have been ten retirements (P-4, PC-1, GTLM-2, GTD-3).

During the last three hours there have been two more cautions. The eighth was brought out when the No. 38 Performance Tech Motorsports PC stopped on track, never to return.

More notables in trouble

The No. 90 DP was running strong all day and night until some pit road issues sent the car one lap back, but still very much in the running. The Starworks PC and AMR No. 98 also spent a considerable amount of time in the garage, but both have since rejoined the race.

Kyle Larson was leading the race until momentarily falling off the pace, regaining his footing four seconds back of the new leader (Wayne Taylor Racing). The No. 81 Porsche went to the garage with damage to the front of the car, which was promptly repaired.

Porsches collide

The biggest incident happened right as the we reached reached the 12 -hour mark in this race. The No. 007 TRG-AMR came back over 70 laps down, only to (accidentally) spoil the nights of the factory Porsche guys. He instigated a crash that took out both the No. 911 and No. 912, who were running top five at the time. See the full story HERE.
