Buddh Honda CBR 250: Sethu, Abhishek share wins

Rajiv Sethu and Abhishek V won two incident-packed Honda CBR250 Open category races at the Buddh International Circuit.

In the opening race, Sethu took the winning honours after making a last lap lunge on Mathana Kumar.

Sethu was involved in a three-way battle with Mathana and Hari Krishnan since the start of the race, with the latter dropping out as the it progressed.

Mathana and Sethu - now in a battle of their own - traded positions lap-after-lap, before the latter settled the fight with a last lap move over Mathana.

Behind the top, Mithun Kumar secured the final spot on the podium, while Abhishek V and Ananth Raj completed the top five.

Krishnan, meanwhile, dropped down from third to eighth on the final lap, behind Anish D Shetty and Ami van Poederooijen.

Amarnath Menon and Abhay Prashan were classified ninth and tenth, with less than two tenths separating the two.

Abhishek wins Race 2 after last corner crash

The second race came to a climatic end as three riders, including Krishnan, collided at the final corner while fighting for the lead of the race.

It allowed Abhishek to sneak in a win by just 0.060s from Shetty, while Mathana who had been leading since lap 4, dropped down to third.

Menon was classified fourth, nearly seven seconds adrift of the surviving lead pack, with Sanjeev M Hatre finishing fifth.

Further back, S Sivanesan was seventh, ahead of Abhay Prashan, van Poederooijen and Kishoare VS.
