Chennai National Motorcycle: Jagan sizzles to bag grand double

It was a sweep by TVS Racing on the podium as KY Ahamed finished second and Kannan S was third in the fourth round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship.

Hari Krishnan R (Honda Ten10 Racing) and Harry Sylvester (TVS Racing) were fourth and fifth respectively.

Being on pole position, Jagan had Rajiv Sethu (Honda Ten10 Racing) and his teammate KY Ahamed behind him in the next two places on the grid at the Madras Motor Race Track on Sunday.

As the race went on, Sethu and Ahamed were fighting for the second spot. Kannan and Mathana Kumar were fighting for the fourth spot. All the while, Jagan was comfortably at the front.

Mathana went off but rejoined later. Mathana running wide put Kannan in the fourth place. A little later, Sethu had a nasty crash and that ended his race.

Chennai's Jagan kept the others at bay with fantastic pace. Lap after lap, it was Jagan who was at the front and there was hardly any indication that Ahamed would catch up with him.

Sethu's crash meant he lost precious points, but he is still one point ahead of Jagan at 123 in the championship.

Ravikumar claims 300-400cc win

Meanwhile, Deepak Ravikumar (Motorev India) clinched the top spot in Race 2 of the Super Sport Indian 300-400cc class. Antony Peter finished second, while Gusto Racing's Amarnath Menon, the championship leader, came in third.

The fourth and fifth places were taken by Vivek Pillai and Shreyas Sannake.

In Race 1 of the Stock Upto 165cc Novice class, Sparks Racing's Peddu Sri Harsha took the top spot, with his teammates Sri Rahil Pillarishetty and Satyanarayana Raju coming in second and third. Nethaji M and Anup Kumar M were fourth and fifth respectively.
