All set for Round 3 of MRF 1600 championship
Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore will host the third round of the National Racing Championship as the fight for the title rages on, in a three-way battle.

Championship leader Karthik Tharani sprung into the lead after the second round in Chennai with two wins with 80 points while Goutham Parekh’s two podium finishes meant, he was second with 76 points.
Looking for his first win in at KMS, Tharani was optimistic on his chances. “The circuit is a little tricky and the weather and win always play a big part here in Coimbatore,” he said ahead of the weekend.
“Last year was really tough for me and so I plan to make it up for it and fight for my first win a Formula car this weekend,” he added.
Home favourite Arjun Narendran will double his duties as he competes in MRF 1600 as well as the Indian Touring Car championship. “I really enjoy driving at this circuit and am optimistic heading into this weekend,” Arjun said.
“Karthik [Tharani] and Goutham [Parekh] will be hard to beat but I am feeling a lot more comfortable with the car and raring to go this weekend,” he concluded.
J Anand, Managing Director, JA Motorsport commented, “We are excited to see another round of the MRF 1600 Championship and especially at our home circuit in Coimbatore.
“We have some good young drivers this year and many who will be racing at the KMS for the first time so should be an exciting weekend,” he concluded.
