The Bangalore-based race driver had a perfect start when he moved ahead of Arjun Narendran in the opening lap of race one.
With leader Karthik Tharani being handed a drive-through penalty, Parekh took the race lead and won the race comfortably to move ahead of Tharani in the championship with race two due in the afternoon.
"I had a good start and passed Arjun in the first lap itself. I almost rear ended Karthik in the second lap but managed to control it," race winner Parekh told to Motorsport.com.
"I drove an aggressive race and saw that Karthik had a drive through. So, once I knew that I was confident that I had the win in the bag. I had the best start of my life in this race," he further added.
Tharani ended third after battling hard with fourth place Chetan Korada. He explains what went wrong with the jump start.
"It was not the start I had hoped for! I was doing a bite point check when the car jerked. It was definitely not a roll. But that's racing," he said after race one.
"I'm definitely happy with my pace and I believe I had the fastest lap of the race," looking ahead for race two as he starts from the front row.
Tharani was not the only one who was penalised as Tejas Ram too had a drive-through penalty for a jump start.
"Once I had the drive-through penalty, I had fun overtaking the other cars. I had the pace and could have finished fifth," Ram said.
Race two starts at 15:20 local time.
