The German had a perfect getaway from pole to take control of the race, with front-row starter Harrison Newey losing out to Felipe Drugovich going into Turn 1.
The Brazilian moved up two places after Joey Mawson also dropped into the midfield at the start, before mounting a charge back up.
At the front, Schumacher always had enough buffer on Drugovich to claim his third win of the season, clawing himself back into the title fight.
Meanwhile, Drugovich continued his podium run, but it came hard for the Brazilian as Newey was on his rear all through the race.
Having lost a position at the start, Newey then held on to third from a charging Mawson, the two involved in a hefty battle for the final podium slot.
Behind, Rinus van Kalmthout equaled his best result of the season finishing fifth, ahead of Kimi Schramm and Ralf Aron.
Aron's fellow countryman Juri Vips crashed out from the race in an incident where he collided with Pedro Cardoso at the last corner.
The Top 10 was rounded off by Yohiaki Katayama, Manuel Maldonado and Pavan Ravishanker.
