The race was red-flagged when Rabindra's #4 car flipped at the initial start after colliding with Mahadik, who lost his front wing in the process.
After almost an hour's delay to clear the track, the race got going as Anindith Reddy took the race lead from polesitter Kush Maini, who had a bad getaway.
Maini dropped further as Ricky Donison and Mahadik slotted themselves in second and third respectively.
The battle for lead was on as Donison closed in on Reddy and eventually passed the Hyderabad-based driver with Reddy losing second place to Mahadik in the space of two laps.
Donison was then able to maintain his spot but a jump start penalty meant Mahadik took the win ahead of Reddy.
With Donison dropping down, Akash Gowda moved up to third to take the final podium slot.
Nayan Chatterjee finished fourth after passing Dhruv Mohite on the final lap, the Mumbai-based driver had dispatched Maini earlier in the race.
Maini endured a gear issue to end fifth ahead of Donison, the 2015 karting losing out on his maiden win after leading all through.
Mohite was seventh after getting similar penalty as Donison with Ajay Kini, Mohammed Nalwalla and Manav Sharma completing the top 10.
