When the five lights went out, Chatterjee led the field from pole position, with fellow front row-starter Ajay Kini dropping down the order.

Kini’s poor start promoted Shanmugam into second place, who started chasing Chatterjee for the race win.

The Singapore-based driver set a series of fastest laps, bringing the gap down to just 0.6 seconds before losing a chunk of time on lap nine.

However, Shanmugam didn’t lose hope, setting a second attack that brought him within 0.4 seconds of Chatterjee.

However, the Mumbai-based driver managed to keep Shanmugam at bay, recording his second straight victory - and fourth overall - in Euro JK.

Behind, Dhruv Mohite finished a distant third, with race three pole-sitter Akash Gowda finishing fourth.

Manav Sharma secured his best result of the weekend in fifth, while Karminder Singh continued his upturn in performance, finishing sixth.

Anindith Reddy was classified seventh, rounding off a difficult weekend for the Hyderabad-based driver who has otherwise made a promising single-seater debut this year.

Further back, Mohammed Nalwalla finished two laps down in eighth.
