The race was red flagged at the end of two laps for the marshals to clear the cars of Harrison Newey, Sean Walkinshaw and Giuliano Alesi.

The race was shortened to five laps after the interruption. Prior to the stoppage, Indian Tarun Reddy was leading the race having overtaken polesitter Max Fewtrell.

In the five laps after the restart, Tatiana Calderon overtook Reddy on the penultimate lap to take the lead and finish first on the road.

But, taking the aggregate times of Reddy's difference to Calderon and vice-versa prior to the red flag, the Indian was deemed the winner as he was 0.260s ahead of the Colombian.

Calderon has appealed the decision and the result stands provisional at the moment. Behind the two, Nikita Troitskiy completed the podium.

Fewtrell eventually finished fourth, while Nerses Isaakyan was fifth, an impressive result for the young Russian after missing Thursday's practice sessions.

Pietro Fittipaldi had a difficult race finishing sixth, as Australian Dylan Young notched up his best result of the season, ending seventh.

Debutant Jose Abadin scored his first points in eighth, while Alessio Picariello's dream run came to an end with him finishing ninth and Matthew Draper 10th.

Earlier, Newey retired with a clutch issue, Alesi crashed, damaging his front left tyre, and Walkinshaw almost flipped over as a result of contact, ending his race.
