A rocketing start from Goutham Parekh saw him leading the race from Tharani heading into Turn 1. It stayed that way for the rest of the 11 laps until the final lap.
Tharani was always on the tails of Parekh trying to find a way past through him at every possible corner. He got his chance on the final lap heading into the fifth corner.
Tharani took the inside line in the fourth corner so as to make a move outside Parekh in the fifth corner but Parekh moved across defending his position and ended up in the gravels.
The incident was under investigation after the race but was deemed as racing incident by the stewards.
Thus Tharani got the win as Tejas Ram equaled his best finish in second while Arjun Narendran completed the podium after having started ninth.
Narendran was in a battle with Anshul Shah and both traded places from the start till midway. Shah finished fourth ahead of Jai Sampath.
Sampath himself was in a race long battle with British driver Hamish Robinson who finished sixth. Aditya Mhatre ended seventh ahead of Parekh who was classified eighth.
Aayush Saini was the sole non-finisher having stalled at the start of the race.
Tharani also clocked the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1m42.756s and now heads into the final race as the championship leader but will start from the second row of the grid behind Shah, Narendran and Ram.
The final race of the championship is slated to start at 16:15 local time.
