Indianapolis –The plan for Gabby Chaves and BHA is simple: run 200 laps, 800 left turns, pass 25 cars, and cross 3 feet of bricks before anyone else. That would win the #98 team their second Indianapolis 500, and make Chaves the ninth rookie to win "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing".
Live coverage begins tomorrow at 11:00am ET on ABC. The green flag will drop shortly after noon, and the race is expected to last about three hours. The forecast has improved all week long, and now there is 0% chance of rain/storms during The 500.
Friday's final "Carb Day" practice session saw the #98 team finish with the 9th fastest speed. Chaves told Bryan and engineer John Dick the Bowers & Wilkins Honda is strong and consistent over the whole fuel run and life of the tires. The BHA team is confident we're ready for a good day on Sunday...
Gabby Chaves Quote on Final Preparations for Indy 500: "The balance of the car was very good, very secure at the rear the whole run. We made a few changes to the front and catching people in traffic wasn't a problem. Finishing P9 in the final practice gives me a lot of confidence for Sunday, all we have to do is stay clean and we'll move forward!"
