Motorsport.com - Kenny Brack has signed a multiyear contract with Chip Ganassi Racing starting with the 2002 season. Terms of the agreement are unknown at this time.

Brack is the current point leader in the CART FedEx Championship series leading Helio Castroneves by just one-point going into this weekend's race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. Brack is currently driving for Team Rahal. Rahal was at the Mid-Ohio facility last weekend and when questioned about the rumors regarding Brack, Rahal said. "I know there is some big money out there being thrown at Kenny and I certainly couldn't blame him for taking it." Rahal is a three-time CART champion.

Chip Ganassi is famous for fielding top drivers. Ganassi Racing won four straight titles from 1996 to 1999 which is a record in the CART books. Ganassi also fielded four cars in the Indianapolis 500 this past May which may be another incentive for Brack.

Ganassi is known for hiring top drivers including rookies as in the case of Juan Montoya, former CART champion and now Formula One driver. However, this season, Ganassi hired two rookie drivers and the results have been less than satisfactory.

According to team sources, Ganassi believes in talent and feels that he has just hired "some talent". "Talent wins championships," said Ganassi. And Brack is a former IRL champion and almost won the IROC championship this year.

Currently, Ganassi's two drivers are Memo Gidley and Bruno Junqueira. Nicolas Minassian started the season but was replaced by Gidley prior to Portland. Ganassi has not signed a second driver for next season at this time.

Rahal's other current driver is Max Papis, who is also in his final year of contract with Team Rahal.
