Dreyer & Reinbold Racing signs Scheckter for Toronto

DREYER & REINBOLD RACING SIGNS TOMAS SCHECKTER TO PILOT THE NO. 24 MONAVIE MACHINE IN TORONTO

Indianapolis, IN (July 7, 2010) - Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced today that South African driver, Tomas Scheckter, and MonaVie (www.monavie.com), maker of premier acai berry juice-based nutritional and energy drink products, will reunite with the team in Toronto. Scheckter will replace the injured Mike Conway next weekend and will drive the team's No. 24 MonaVie entry for the Honda Indy Toronto in Toronto, Canada on Sunday, July 18th.

During the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing pilot, Mike Conway, was involved in a big crash. With one lap to go, the Brit collided with Ryan Hunter-Reay, who had slowed to conserve fuel in order to finish the race. Unfortunately, due to the varying speeds between the two cars, Conway"s machine launched into the catch-fence and disintegrated as it ran along the track. As a result, Mike was transported via helicopter to Methodist hospital where he was released a week later. He had surgery that night to repair fractures to his lower left leg. Additionally, Conway has a compression fracture of one of his thoracic vertebrae and was fitted for a back brace, which he will wear for three months and will prevent him from racing. He is in excellent spirits and is back home in the UK recovering.

While Conway is out of the seat, Scheckter will step in to replace him next weekend. The South African was the sensible choice for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing as he ran for the team last year as well as for two races this season, Indianapolis and Texas. "We are happy to have Tomas and MonaVie back with us for the Honda Indy Toronto. We have developed a good relationship with him, and, for us, Tomas made the most sense because we had a great run with him last year. He did extremely well and unfortunately was taken out of the race when he was running up high. We hope to finish what we started," stated Dennis Reinbold, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing co-owner.

This year will mark MonaVie's and Scheckter's second time to compete in the Honda Indy Toronto event. Last season the two made their debut in Toronto with DRR and it was quite a memorable one as well. Scheckter had started from 14th and managed to work his way up the grid and, at one point, was running in first position. Unfortunately, as he was running in the top-ten, on Lap 75 he made contact with Mario Moraes and Alex Tagliani, which ended his day early.

Scheckter came on board with DRR last year competing at ten races for the team. He earned three top-ten finishes (6th- Iowa, 8th - Chicago, 9th- Miami). He re-united with DRR this season for the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500, where he led for five laps and finished 15th overall. Scheckter also filled in for Conway at Texas Motor Speedway where he finished in 13th position.

"I am really happy to be in a DRR car again. I know the task ahead at Toronto will be challenging and for the most part, it will be good to learn from Justin and his experience on street courses. I look forward to the challenge and feel at home at DRR for this event given our good race pace last year. I have to thank not only Dennis, Robbie and Larry Curry, but MonaVie and their support for allowing me to be back in the race car where I feel most at home," commented Scheckter.

Decisions have not been made on a driver for the remainder of the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Season.
