HVM Racing Completes Testing at Kentucky

HVM Racing took advantage of a weekend off by spending a day at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway in preparation for next Saturday's Meijer Indy 300.

Driver E.J. Viso paced the No. 33 PDVSA HVM Racing Honda around Kentucky collecting valuable information to help ease the learning curve for next weekend's events. HVM Racing and Viso had never raced at the oval, and the test allowed the team to get familiar with the track and setups before returning later this week.

Comments from PDVSA HVM Racing Team Manager Vince Kremer after testing at Kentucky:

"We didn't come here to set the fastest time, but rather to have a true test (the first of the year) and to go through the various options. We don't have time on race weekend to do that and this full session was a big help for us.

"We did a lot of aero and mechanical work. I think we found a good balance to the car. We put in over 125 laps and it was all very positive. We feel like we'll come back next week with a competitive package."

Comments from PDVSA HVM Racing Driver E.J. Viso after testing at Kentucky:

"It is always difficult to judge the results of a test because you're just trying a lot of different things and analyzing how it affected the car. We are going to find out in six days how successful it was or not when we return for the race.

"The test was good for different reasons. We did a lot of development with a lot of different parts on the car, and it gave me an opportunity to get laps on the track. It's a fast track and it's going to be a good race."
