IndyCar Long Beach weather report: What to expect

IndyCar returns for the third round for the 2025 season at Long Beach, California.

Currently, Weather.com predicts a dry weekend with high humidity. 

Three-tie NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou won the first two races of the season in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Thermal, California. The Spanish driver hopes to continue his winning streak. Reacting to his last win at Thermal Club, he explained:

“What an amazing weekend,” Palou said. “Honestly, we’ve had a really fast car since practice. They executed very well. Everybody at Chip Ganassi Racing, the 10 car, executed perfectly.

"I have a great team. They give me a car I feel comfortable with that I can manage and make it look easy. They do all the work. I just try and make it happen."

Friday, 11 April

6 p.m. ET: NTT IndyCar Series - Practice 1

Friday, during which Practice 1 will take place in the evening, is expected to see temperatures rise to 23°C with 63% humidity. Rain doesn't currently seem to be a threat, with only an 8% chance during the day which rises to 20% during the night.

Saturday, 12 April

11.30 a.m. ET: NTT IndyCar Series - Practice 2
2.30 p.m. ET: NTT IndyCar Series - Qualifications

The chance of rain rises slightly on Saturday to 13%, but the main challenge seems to come from the humidity, which is expected to be at 74%. Temperatures are anticipated to reach a modest 20°C.

Sunday, 13 April

12 p.m. ET: NTT IndyCar Series - Warmup
4.30 p.m. ET: NTT IndyCar Series - Race

Race day is predicted to see similar conditions to Saturday. Humidity remains the biggest challenge at 69%, which will rise to 81% in the evening. Temperatures will mimic Saturday with morning fog followed by afternoon sun.
