INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 30, 2002) - Cheever Indy Racing postponed its driver announcement scheduled for this Friday after deciding to take more time to select a driver for the No. 52 Red Bull Cheever Racing Infiniti.

"If we could have a four-car team, our problems would be solved," said General Manager Richard Caron. "Unfortunately we only have one seat to fill and we want to make sure we hire someone that will be a perfect match for this team."

The team, owned by 1998 Indy 500 champion Eddie Cheever Jr., will further evaluate potential drivers at the Indy Racing League Test in the West next week. Testing takes place at California Speedway in Fontana, Calif. on Feb. 6, and Phoenix International Raceway on Feb. 8 and 9.

Red Bull Cheever Racing will officially roll out the 2002 team colors and announce a new sponsor during a press conference at 3 p.m. (PST), Feb. 5 at the pre-season media day at California Speedway.
