Madison, Ill. -- Team Hemelgarn and driver Buddy Lazier are making preparations for the Gateway Indy 250 on August 25. Piloting the No. 91 Coors Light/TaeBo/Life Fitness/Delta Faucet Chevrolet-powered Dallara, Lazier returns to the challenging, 1.25-mile paved Gateway International Raceway with unfinished business.

"We have unfinished business at St. Louis, and we're looking for a win," said the 1996 Indianapolis 500 winner. "Last year, we lost a cylinder at the start of the race and finished 13, so I'm looking forward to running on eight cylinders. Hopefully, we'll be the dark horse. My Coors Light team and I feel confident we can bring a podium finish."

Coming off a podium finish at Kentucky, the 2000 Indy Racing League champion also revealed his thoughts on the 2002 season thus far.

"We did not have the beginning of the season we had hoped for; we did not have the middle of the season we needed, and we're looking to end our season on a high note."

Unlike Kentucky where horsepower plays a big role, Gateway is a unique track where chassis setups are critical in maneuvering around the paper clip shaped track. The 200-lap event will be one of the more difficult and intense races of the season.

Practice begins at 10 am (CDT) and 12:45 August 24, and 9:30 am August 25. MBNA Pole Qualifying starts at 3:45 August 24. Live coverage of the Gateway Indy 250 will air on ESPN at 3 pm (EDT).

FAST FACTS: Lazier will be making his 68th Indy Racing League career start currently ranked 10th in the championship with 229 points thus far, has earned five top 10 finishes in 2002, bringing his career top 10 finishes to 34 leads the league in most career victories with eight has raced several events and recorded wins in other series, including SCCA Formula Vee and Formula Ford, on the 1.6-mile road course that runs throughout the infield of Gateway International Raceway.
