Dan Wheldon, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We are very fortunate on this team to have a good group of guys to help perfect the car setup. I think the Klein Tools/Jim Beam crew is well prepared for the race. The conditions change so much you can never be too confident. I think we are where we need to be and now we can just look forward to the race."
Dan Wheldon Facts
Wheldon will start from the middle of the front row after qualifying second on Pole Day with a four-lap average speed of 221.524 mph.
The Klein Tools/Jim Beam team will return to the track on Carburetion Day.
Wheldon is the current Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series points leader with 123 points placing him ahead of his Andretti Green teammate Tony Kanaan with 117.
Wheldon is the IndyCar Series' most recent winner, claiming his first IndyCar Series victory at the Bridgestone Indy Japan 300 on April 17.
Wheldon has also claimed the last two IndyCar Series pole positions, earning the top starting spot at Phoenix and Japan.
Wheldon started fifth and finished 19th in last year's Indianapolis 500.
Tony Cotman, Team Manager, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"It was tough to come out here on a Saturday. The Klein Tools/Jim Beam crew would've liked to have had a bit of a rest because it has been a long month. At the same time we had a really good morning. We feel good with how we stand for the race, but I bet there are ten or fifteen other guys who can probably say the same thing."
