INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 -Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials announced today a small change to the 2001 Indianapolis 500 schedule of events. When released in July, the 2001 schedule was noteworthy for its return to a traditional, three-week format. This new schedule included the final day of qualifications - Bump Day - set for Saturday, May 19. Officials have changed that day to a practice day, and made Sunday, May 20 Bump Day.
