Dan Wheldon on the Argent Mortgage Indy 300:
"I did what I had to do in Richmond by scoring some good points in the championship after Tony (Kanaan) and Sam (Hornish Jr.) fell out. Kansas is obviously a track where you have to be quick if you want to win the race. So far, the Klein Tools/Jim Beam team has had quite a bit of success on tracks where we've needed to be quick to contend, so I'm looking forward to going to Kansas and getting back into victory lane."

Dan Wheldon Facts

* Wheldon has won four of seven races in 2005 and leads the IndyCar Series championship standings by 83 points over teammate Tony Kanaan.

* Wheldon is the only IndyCar Series driver to win four of the first five races in a season and only the second driver to win four races over a five-race span.

* Adding to his record-breaking 2005 season, Wheldon won the 89th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29. He is the 64th different driver to win the event.

* Wheldon's seven career wins have come in the last 21 events, by far the best stretch in IndyCar Series history. The next closest stretch was by Hornish who won seven races in a 27-event stretch.

* Earlier in 2005, Wheldon collected three-consecutive victories, only the second driver to achieve that feat. In addition to the Indianapolis 500, he won at Twin Ring Motegi and the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. His first win of 2005 came at Homestead-Miami Speedway where he led 158 of 200 laps.

* Wheldon had a streak of 10-consecutive races where he led laps snapped in Richmond. It was the
second-best streak in IndyCar Series history. Wheldon is currently 10th on the all-time list for laps led.

* His best finish at Kansas Speedway came in 2004 when he finished ninth.

* Wheldon is currently nominated for ESPN's ESPY Award in the "Best Driver" category.

* Wheldon was selected as Speed Channel's second quarter Driver of the Year in 2005.

Eddie Jones, Race Engineer, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone on the Argent Mortgage Indy 300:
"Kansas is a track that has a lot less banking than Texas, so you need mechanical grip and a certain amount of downforce. But, the more downforce you add, the more drag you get. With more drag, you lose speed. Kansas is a difficult track, but I believe we have a good opportunity to get back into winning form."
