What: ABC Supply Co./A.J. Foyt 225, Round 10 of the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series
Where: The Milwaukee Mile, West Allis, Wis.
When: Sunday, July 24, 2005
Television: ESPN (Live), 2:30 p.m. (EDT)
Bryan Herta on the ABC Supply Co./A.J. Foyt 225: "Milwaukee is a great track and I really enjoy racing there. It is one of those tracks that we all call a 'driver's circuit' because it is very challenging for the drivers. It's the kind of place I like going to race. The XM Satellite Radio crew improved some things in Nashville, so I'm looking forward to getting back on track."
Bryan Herta Facts -- Herta is eighth in the IndyCar Series points championship. He is only nine points out of seventh place and 20 points out of sixth. Herta's best finish in 2005 came at the Indianapolis 500 where he finished in third place. The finish was Herta's best at Indy. This will be Herta's ninth start at The Milwaukee Mile, with his best finish coming in 2004 where he had a ninth-place result. Since his first IndyCar Series race in 2003, Herta is tied with the fourth-most top-10 results among all IndyCar Series drivers and has the fifth-most top-five finishes. In 2005, Herta has recorded his first two career IndyCar Series pole positions. He took his first pole in Phoenix at the XM Satellite Radio Indy 200 and the second at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Herta is only the 10th driver in IndyCar Series history to record consecutive poles, joining teammates Tony Kanaan and Dan Wheldon. Herta drove the XM Satellite Radio car to a ninth-place finish in the 2004 points championship. Herta has three career major open-wheel racing wins and nine poles. Herta has one IndyCar Series victory, which came at Kansas Speedway in 2003.
George Klotz, Team Manager, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone on the ABC Supply Co./A.J. Foyt 225: "We're trying to forget the last few races because we just don't feel like we were as good as we should have been. So, we're going to put that out of our minds and go to Milwaukee where, hopefully, the XM Satellite Radio car will be fast and we can get out of this rut that we seem to be in for unexplained reasons. We're looking forward to Milwaukee and fully expect to do better than we have been."
