Fountain, Colo. (June 26, 1999) - First it was the Dallas Stars in the NHL, now it's an all Dallas front row in Indy car racing. Greg Ray, of Plano, Texas, and John Hollansworth of Dallas will start side by side in Sunday's Radisson 200 at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Greg Ray was first out to qualify, posting an impressive lap of 176.005 miles per hour. "The track conditions changed from practice," said Ray. "The pavement temperature went up about twelve degrees. The (USAC) Silver Bullet cars had just finished their practice and I was the first car on the track. I had the honor of cleaning the track for everybody. The IRL crew did a good job of cleaning the track but there was still a lot of debris."

Ray is the first driver to repeat as a pole winner in the Indy Racing League this season. He took the pole position for the March 28 event at Phoenix.

Now Ray will focus on winning tomorrow's race. "It's going to take consistency to win tomorrow's race, said Ray. "Race laps will be anywhere from a second to three seconds a lap slower than qualifying. It doesn't really matter if you start on the pole. The win will go to the guy who can stay out of trouble and stay consistent."

John Hollansworth has been consistent all weekend. The Dallas-based driver has been setting fast laps in every practice session leading up to today's qualifying. Hollansworth first qualifying lap of 175.859 miles per hour was good enough to place him on the outside of the front row for tomorrow's race. "This was still disappointing," said Hollansworth, "we had a real shot at getting the first position and it just slipped through our fingers."

Hollansworth tried to improve his time on his second qualifying lap but he encountered a slight problem. "It was about ten degrees hotter on the track surface than when we when we went out this morning to practice. We had been planted through (turns) one and two, solid all weekend. On my second lap, I had a huge push in turn two and it was either lift or take off the right side of the car, so I decided to lift."

"I wish we could start this way all the time," said Hollansworth. "We've had a little difficulty finishing, but I hope today is an indication of what's to come."

Mark Dismore, of Greenfield, Ind., qualified third this afternoon. Dismore put together two consistent laps of 20.565 and 20.559 seconds, the better of which equaled 175.106 miles per hour. Although Dismore ran his fastest laps of the weekend in qualifying, he thought the car still had more left in it. "The car was little loose during qualifying," said Dismore. "Tomorrow's going to be a very competitive race. The track is going to be hard on everything. It's going to be a grueling race."

The Radisson 200 takes the green flag at 12:00 noon (MDT) on Sunday, June 27, 1999. The race will be broadcast live by FOX Sports Net starting at 2:00 p.m. (EDT).
