IRL: Pikes Peak Scott Sharp 3rd, Mark Dismore 4th

Kelley Racing drivers Scott Sharp and Mark Dismore inverted their starting positions to gain 3rd and 4th place finishes, respectively. Sharp lead much of the first half of the race before his car became loose; however, the Delphi team made tire pressure changes in the pits to correct the handling. Starting 3rd, Dismore began to slide back in the early going due to handling problems. The OnStar team made radical changes to tire pressure and wings to regain control of the setup. With brilliant pit stops, Dismore was able to move up to 4th before the finish. Mark Dismore #28 OnStar/GM BuyPower/Bryant Dallara:

"Our car was just junk at the beginning, but the OnStar guys gave me great pit stops and major adjustments, and we salvaged a good finish. We had big under steer in practice, pulled our race setup out of this thin air, and ended up getting lucky. The guys made some big wing and tire pressure adjustments, and that was the key for us to become halfway competitive at the end. I'm just looking forward to the last three races at the mile and a half tracks, they tend to suit me better."

Scott Sharp #8 Delphi Automotive Systems/Futaba/Worldcom Dallara:

"The Delphi car was pretty decent all day, but it got loose when I wasn't in traffic and a little tight in traffic. Our goal these two races was to gain a lot of points, and I think we accomplished that. We're now third in points and going to Atlanta as the defending champs; I think the Delphi team is ready to make a charge for the championship."
