Seventeen IRL IndyCar Series stars to drive the "Test in the Bluegrass" this Friday

SPARTA, KY. -- Defending "Belterra Casino Indy 300" Champion Felipe Giaffone, 2002 Kentucky Speedway pole winner Sarah Fisher and reigning Indy 500 Champion Gil de Ferran will lead a group of 17 Indy Racing League IndyCar Series drivers scheduled to participate in the first "Test in the Bluegrass" from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Kentucky Speedway on Friday, June 20.

Other stars slated to put their high-powered race machines through their paces on the speedway's 1.5-mile tri-oval include two-time Indy 500 Champ Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti, Kenny Brack, Scott Dixon, Buddy Rice, Dan Wheldon, Tomas Scheckter, Al Unser, Jr., Robbie Buhl, Greg Ray, Tora Tagaki, Roger Yasukawa, Vitor Meira and 2002 Kentucky Speedway race winner and Indy Racing League Infiniti Pro Series Champ A.J. Foyt, IV.

"Test in the Bluegrass" is open to the public. Ten-dollar general admission tickets go on sale Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Kentucky Speedway main entrance located at Gate 16. Fans in attendance will be able to watch two on-track test sessions, see driver show cars, and interact with their favorite drivers during an autograph session and in the garage areas. Guests also will be able to take the IRL Fan Experience "Pit Stop Challenge" and register to win the Official "Belterra Casino Indy 300" Pace Cars courtesy of event sponsor Belterra Casino Resort. Cameras will be permitted.

"This is a great opportunity for fans to get an up-close look at the stars and race machines of the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series in an informal setting," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said.
