TICKETS FOR IRL INDY 200 AT WALT DISNEY WORLD, NASCAR CHEVY TRUCKS CHALLENGE, NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH TICKETMASTER
For Immediate Release
INDIANAPOLIS (November 7, 1997) -- Tickets for the Indy Racing League and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opening events at Walt Disney World Speedway are now available at Florida Ticketmaster ticket centers. The one-mile oval at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., will play host to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevy Trucks Challenge, a 200-lap event, on Sunday, January 18. The 1998 Indy Racing League season gets underway Saturday, Jan. 24 with the Indy 200 Presented by Aurora.
In addition to the Ticketmaster centers, tickets may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster in Orlando at (407) 839-3900 or in Tampa at (813) 287-8844. A pre-season special -- $10 off any ticket purchased for either race - is being offered today through Saturday, December 20.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is one of the most popular and exciting racing series in the country. Many of NASCAR's top competitors, such as Ron Hornaday, Jack Sprague and defending Chevy Trucks Challenge champion Joe Ruttman will compete in full-sized Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge pickup trucks.
One week later, the stars of the Indy Racing League, including 1997 IRL Champion Tony Stewart, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk and 21-year-old standout Jimmy Kite kickoff Indianapolis-style racing in 1998 at one of the series' most exciting venues.
It's the best of both worlds -- NASCAR and IRL open wheel racing. Only at Walt Disney World Speedway. To learn more about hospitality and promotional opportunities at the Indy 200 Presented by Aurora and the Chevy Trucks Challenge, call Roy Hasty at (407) 939-8252. -- 30 --
