The FAZZT Race Team had another excellent race. With great driving from Tagliani, a good pit strategy and some properly placed yellows our day was a huge improvement over yesterday. The day started with a 23rd place grid position, by the half way point, Tagliani had gotten the team up to 14th position. Today's result moved Tagliani up another position in the Championship points to 12th. Which means team is now in a good position going into Miami to finish in the top 10 in the Championship.
Alex Tagliani on Motegi Race Report:
"Yeah it was a good race for the Bowers & Wilkins/TorcUP machine. We recovered well from the qualifying although obviously it would have been really nice to start in the top 10. I think that's what we had as a car all day on Saturday, but racing is sometimes recovering from little things. It was a good race, the strategy was good and the boys did a great job in the pits. We had a quick car and considering the track is known to be very difficult to pass, I think we can be very happy that we came back through the field ten positions. Overall, I think we can come away very happy and we finished in front of all the people we needed to finish in front of for the championship. We made up one spot and we'll go into Miami and try to do even better than we did here and wrap up the season doing the best job we can."
Rob Edwards COO/General Manager on Motegi Race Report:
"I said last night that I had every confidence in Alex and our engineers working through the data to give us a good race car for today and they did just that. We were able to make some calls on strategy and Alex did an excellent job in the car and we moved up through the field ten places. The result moved us up to 12th in points and so we will go to Homestead looking to finish our first season on a high note. Great teamwork has been our strength all year and it was again today. I am very proud and happy for Alex and all of the team"
