Just two weeks after getting off to a winning start in St. Petersburg, Rising Star Racing (RSR) will head West for the 40th running of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach this weekend as the Verizon IndyCar Series stages Round 2 of the 2014 championship.

Josef Newgarden will try to find the right balance between patience and aggression on the 11- turn, 2-mile circuit. The young American scored a spot on the front row for the 2013 race in Long Beach, and will look to turn up the wick again this weekend.

“Patience is an important thing I learned in St. Pete,” said Newgarden. “These are long races, and a lot can happen. You have to be very patient throughout the whole deal, with each set of tires and each stint, because anything can happen at any point.”

While the Pro Mazda series is not racing during the weekend, Rising Star Racing drivers Neil Alberico and Spencer Pigot will be on hand for the event. The young duo will mix with RSR corporate guests as well as shadow Newgarden through the race weekend. The duo have also been invited to participate in a Verizon IndyCar Q & A at the Fan Zone at 12:30 PM on Saturday.
