Sebastien Bourdais finishes second at Toronto
Bourdais led Six Chevrolet drivers to top-10 finishing positions in Race 1 on Streets of Toronto
TORONTO (July 13, 2013) – Sebastien Bourdais led six Chevrolet IndyCar V6 drivers to top-10 finishing positions today on the Streets of Toronto in Race One of the 2 in T.O. After starting second on the 24-car grid, the four-time champion led three times for a total of 20 laps on the way to the second-place finishing position. Bourdais’ strong run in the No. 7 McAfee Dragon Racing Chevrolet awarded his team owner, Jay Penske, with the best IZOD IndyCar Series finish in team history.
After the scheduled standing start was waived off due to one of the competitors developing a mechanical issue, the field rolled to the green flag in the familiar two-by-two format. Bourdais fell in line in second, but took the lead for the first time on lap 21. Running second at the final restart of the day on lap 84 of the scheduled 85, the 31-time series winner battled for the victory during the one-lap shootout, but had to settle for second on the podium.

"Congratulations to Sebastien Bourdais and the Dragon Racing crew for executing a strong race and second-place finish.” said Chris Berube, Chevrolet Racing Program Manager, IZOD IndyCar Series. “Team Chevy claimed six of the top-10 finishing positions amongst four different Chevrolet-powered teams utilizing a "never give up" attitude, and the results of solid development work since the last street circuit in Detroit. The target is clearly in sight for Sunday's race."
Helio Castroneves’ sixth place finish in the No. 3 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet kept him in the Series’ point standings lead for the seventh consecutive race.
Toronto native James Hinchcliffe brought the No. 27 GoDaddy Andretti Autosport Chevrolet to the finish in eighth position, and Simona De Silvestro, No. 78 Nuclear Entergy Areva KV Racing Technology Chevrolet, finished in 10th position.
The race was won by Scott Dixon. Dario Franchitti completed the podium finishers.
Race Two of the Toronto doubleheader weekend is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday
