FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb.2, 2010) The following is a statement from Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage regarding the announcement today from the Indy Racing League that Professional Bull Riders, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Randy Bernard has been named chief executive officer of the league. Texas Motor Speedway plays host to the IRL IZOD IndyCar Series on June 5 for the Texas 550k.
"Randy Bernard is an outstanding choice to serve as CEO of the Indy Racing League and Texas Motor Speedway will work closely with him to help grow the sport of Indy car racing. We know Randy and he has attended races at Texas Motor Speedway. His experiences in bringing the Professional Bull Riders tour from its inception to its prominence today gives fans of Indy car racing every reason to believe he can weave the same successful story for our sport. We will pitch in and follow his leadership example and move forward together. As always, the Indy Racing League can count on `The Great American Speedway!'"
