Arrow McLaren team principal Tony Kanaan has made his debut at the prestigious Goodwood Revival, alongside Scott Dixon.

The Brazilian driver is driving a Ford Zodiac in the St. Mary's Trophy at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, and a 1961 Jaguar E-type 'semi-lightweight', which was previously raced at the event by Bruce McLaren, in the RAC TT Celebration.

"I'm so lost. It's like my first day. My parents dropped me off at the race track and I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's awesome. Awesome to be here with my best friend [Dixon]. First time here, so we'll see. Never driven the track, never driven the car. Scott says he's gonna leave me for a couple laps, so I don't trust him," he said with a smile.

Dixon explained that Kanaan hadn't asked him for any advice ahead of the three-day event, joking that he told him it "was pretty much like an oval, just the opposite direction".

"Yeah, it can't be any more different than Indy, that's Scott," Kanaan added. "No, that's how much help I'm getting from my best friend, I might as well not listen to them, but you know what, it's all fun.

"I always wanted to do Goodwood, obviously throughout my career and never had the opportunity. So, glad to be here. I gotta thank everybody for making this happen. These guys have been advertising this for so long, and we'll see. I mean, I'm not gonna brag too much about it. I just wanna come back to the pits after this first session in one piece."

Kanaan joins various other current and former racing drivers, including seven-time NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, 1997 F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button.

“I am really looking forward to racing in the RAC TT Celebration and the St. Mary’s Trophy - my very first time competing at the Goodwood Revival! I can’t wait to take to the track alongside my fellow IndyCar drivers," Kanaan explained ahead of the event.
