Fernando Alonso's participation at last year's Indianapolis 500 was arguably the biggest story in world motorsport last year. And though he was not to be victorious this time, the 2-time Formula One World Champion laid his claim to be a champion as he led 27 laps before engine failure saw him bow out from the race with just a few laps remaining.
