Latest news on Mid-Ohio
Nico Jamin won for Andretti Autosport at Mid-Ohio after teammate Colton Herta and championship leader Kyle Kaiser made seemingly elementary errors.
Polesitter Santi Urrutia of Belardi Auto Racing claimed the lead at the start and despite almost constant pressure from Colton Herta’s Andretti Steinbrenner Racing entry, held on to clinch his first win of the season.
Andretti Steinbrenner Racing’s Colton Herta set a quick lap of 71.102 seconds late in the half-hour session, and it withstood a last minute flyer by Race 1 polesitter from Belardi Auto Racing’s Santiago Urrutia.
Santiago Urrutia, the winner of both Indy Lights races at Mid-Ohio last year, will start on pole for Saturday’s first of two Cooper Tires Indy Lights Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio Powered by Mazda races.
