Mishael Abbott Drives Home Field Advantage at Indy Pro Series Season Opener
MIAMI (March 20, 2006) -- Mishael Abbott of Coral Springs, FL, prepares to take to the 1.5-mile oval course at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the season's first Indy Pro Series race on March 26, 12:30 p.m. EST.
Racing the No. 8 Hollywood Poker car for Michael Crawford Motorsports, Mishael hopes that hometown advantage will give her the edge to improve over last year's eighth place finish at Homestead.
"It's a great track, the people here are awesome and it's in my backyard," Mishael stated. "After testing at Homestead earlier in the month, the additional time on course helps me feel even more comfortable on this track. I really want to run a great race for my family, friends and all my Florida fans to thank them for their continued support over the years."
"I can't wait for this race," Mishael added. "I just think we have a really good car with the Michael Crawford Motorsports team. They're great. We're ready to go run and everyone is really excited about that." Mishael's car will carry an on-board camera providing driver-perspective images for viewers during the March 31 telecast on ESPN2, 1:00 p.m. EST.
