Krauss Completes IPS Rookie Test

JOLIET, ILLINOIS - Kevin Krauss completed his Indy Pro Series Rookie Test at the 1.5 Mile Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois, October 24th. The Oro Valley, Arizona racer brought the Steve Eppard owned Parts Sourcing International No. 76 car up to speeds in excess of 185 miles per hour over the sixty plus lap run. Indy Racing League Technical Director, Butch Meyer, signed off the six year Bob Bondurant School instructor.

"Testing the IPS car was a great opportunity for me," Krauss remarked. "It was very different from what I've been used to, however it was a very stable and terrific car to drive. It really was a natural progression of my open wheel racing career." Krauss continued, "I really have to thank Doc Logan, of Logan Racing who has been so instrumental in getting this test arranged for me. Additionally, I have to thank Steve Eppard and the great group of guys that man The SWE Parts Sourcing International team that really facilitated me getting comfortable with the drastic change that oval racing presented. I also had great support from my family and extended family at The Autobahn Country Club in Joliet where I'm the Assistant Track Manager."

Testing resumes with The SWE Parts Sourcing International team in late November at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. "I'm really looking forward to the test, not only to run with some other guys in the draft, but to build on today's experience with some valuable seat time in preparation for the 2007 Indy Pro Series season," Krauss reflected.
