Prendeville Qualifies 13th Friday For First Half of Infineon Indy Pro Series Doubleheader With Best Friends Animal Society No. 5
SONOMA, Calif., Aug. 24 - Andrew Prendeville will start on the inside of Row 7 beside Robbie Pecorari in Saturday's Indy Pro Series race at Infineon Raceway after he qualified 13th on Friday here with his Best Friends Animal Society No. 5. Saturday's race is the first of two 30-lap/60-minute Indy Pro Series races here this weekend on the 2.26-mile, 12-turn road course.
Prendeville's best lap in the 45-minute SWE qualifying session was timed in 1:23.8348 for an average speed of 98.766 miles per hour.
The starting line-up for Sunday's race will be determined by the 22 drivers' finishing positions in Saturday's race. The first four, six or eight positions could be inverted following a drawing by the winner of Saturday's race.
Although Prendeville will do his best to record two podium finishes, initially he wants to finish all 30 laps of both races here for his Racing Laps for Best Friends program. It benefits the Best Friends Animal Society, which operates the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the United States, located in Kanab, Utah.
