Jaime Camara on the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg:

"I'm really excited about going back to St. Petersburg for a lot of reasons. I do my best on road courses. I'm used to racing doubleheaders, because we used to do it all the time in Formula 3. I think we'll be really competitive because we had a really good test at Sebring on Tuesday. It's a really fun track at St. Petersburg. I had a good car there last year, but I crashed on the first lap and that was it. So now I have two chances to get that behind me this weekend. Last week (at Homestead) was a disappointment. I had a really good start, but I got black-flagged on the start for passing (polesitter) Jay Howard. That's racing. I'm aggressive and that's what happens, sometimes. But you've got to move forward, and this weekend I think is going to be great."

Jaime Camara Facts:

* At last Sunday's season-opening Miami 100, Camara qualified third but saw his race come to an end before it even started as he and fellow second-row starter Wade Cunningham were black-flagged for beating polesitter Jay Howard across the start/finish line when the race went green. Camara lost a lap while serving the subsequent drive-through penalty and battled his way back to finish 11th in the 67-lap event.

* Camara, a 25-year-old who hails from Goiana, Goias, Brazil, ran the full Indy Pro Series season in 2005 behind the wheel of the CELG-Sam Schmidt Motorsports entry. He posted two wins, three poles, five top-fives and 11 top-10s on his way to a fifth-place finish in the series standings.

* Last year at St. Petersburg, Andretti Green Racing's Marco Andretti captured the Indy Pro Series victory in his and the team's very first series start. Andretti went on to earn three wins, three poles and five top-five finishes in six races in 2005.

* In his first career St. Petersburg Indy Pro Series start, Camara started fifth in the CELG-Sam Schmidt Motorsports entry but retired after an opening-lap accident.

* Camara is close friends with fellow Andretti Green Racing driver, fellow Brazilian and fellow Miami resident Tony Kanaan. Like Kanaan, he enjoys cycling and running, as well as weightlifting and playing squash.

Kim Green, President, Andretti Green Racing:

"I think after what happened to him last Sunday at Homestead, Jaime's going to be really focused on getting two good results at St. Pete. The team tested at Sebring earlier this week and everyone was really strong. Jaime's an excellent road course racer. He should thrive in this environment."
