Bobby Wilson will start form the pole position for Sunday's Corning 100 Indy Pro Series event at Watkins Glen. Practice for the Pro Series was canceled when overcast skies kept the medical helicopter from landing at the track. The single 45 minute session was used as official qualifying with Wilson turning a lap at 1:53.2403 (107.135 mph.).

With five minutes remaining in the session, Jonathan Klein put in a lap good enough for the pole before promptly spinning in Turn one. That brought out a full course yellow, effectively ending Klein's day. Drivers causing caution periods were not towed back to the pits.

Qualifying was interrupted by three caution periods leading Indy Racing League officials to extend the 45 minute session by four minutes. With the added time aiding a drying track, Wilson beat Klein's time by nearly a second and a half.

"We made a bunch of changes throughout the session," said Wilson. "I kind of miss the one lap qualifying, because I'm used to that style. But we put it all together on the last lap."

Wilson, along with the other top-five drivers, set their best time on their final lap.

Klein ended up sixth.

Alex Lloyd qualified second driving for Gary Peterson's Automatic Fire Sprinklers team. "I'm happy to be on the front row," said Lloyd. "I'm disappointed not to be on the pole, because we were comfortably quickest yesterday in the dry conditions."

Phil Giebler will start on the inside of the second row, with 2005 Pro Series champion Wade Cunningham alongside. "W sat on the pole there after the first yellow," said Cunningham. "Really, I just abused the front tires because the track was drying; it was quite dry at the beginning of the session. Then it sprinkled again, and we went out before the second yellow, and my tires were just gone."

Cunningham reported to the pits, gave his tires a chance to cool before returning to the track for the last lap shootout. "I was struggling with the front tires. Fourth isn't too bad."

Jaime Camara rounded out the top five.
